It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a team that has accomplished all there is.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it appeared I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
